Not so far away from the town of Valjevo, in the ambient of river Gradac, on a sloppy terrain a new Facility for elderly people has risen.

Concept creates an intersection of urban and natural environment.

The new structure is defined as a barrier – new ramparts pointing a symbol of new life through the idea of "Gradac butterfly".

Urban concept integrates a new structure with its surrounding natural environment from which the combination of volumes and open spaces elevates.

Architectural concept follows the spirit of urban concept, shaping the structure full of counterpoints. Architectural form is determined by powerful linear structures and sharply cut pedestrian ramps and paths, in combination with dynamic and soft structures intended to emphasize particular place and ambient.

Two major zones are distinguished:

. accommodation capacity

. daycare facilities

These zones are mutually connected through the entrance hall and above it, by the open paved roof terrace.

The counterpoint system is established on all levels of the design.

Basically a dominant pair is easily recognized. Two linear structures holding board capacities raising from the terrain and one waving structure holding daycare facilities drowning into the green land.

Surrounding area is also arranged through contrast – a clash of sharply cut pedestrian ramps and paths with naturally kept environment.
